Not much ...

Sorry I haven't updated my blog in a few days. I've been EXTREMELY lazy! However we did have a busy weekend. Saturday we went to Dad and Debbie's house with Paw. Their house is looking FABULOUS. It's very beautiful! They did such a great job picking out everything, and designing it. It's gorgeous. After we got the tour of the house, we went out to eat at a little cafe. The food was good, and our babies tasted a lot of things! I did not notice Daddy had Kera on his lap, and was letting her suck on french fries (I wish there was an eye roll smiley - If ther was I would insert it here). So Drake got to try one. I gave them pieces of green beans. They were unsure, but overall I think they liked them. Then during dessert, Drake was on Grandpa's lap and stuck his fingers in the chocolate pudding pie, and put his fingers in his mouth. So Kera got a little taste of chocolate as well. Funny, because the day before that, Dane and I were talking about the twins first birthday party, and how we weren't going to have chocolate, because of the possibility of an allergic reaction. Since I was not planning on feeding my kids chocolate before a year old. But I guess Drake had other plans for mommy. So they may have chocolate cakes... who knows, probably still vanilla though.

Sunday we went to my moms house where she grilled us steaks, a baked patato, and a nice salad.

Monday my sister came over to watch the Bachelor with me and Dane didn't get home until 11:30 PM...

and finally today :)... Kera is talking a ton! Gibber jabber of course, but cute none the less. Drake is refusing to go to bed, and I hear him in his crib talking, and laughing. I went to spy on him, and he was on his knees, looking over the changing table, I guess to try to see his sister. He's asleep now! Thank Goodness.

Now I am off to go take a shower, and watch a lifetime movie, and hopefully my husband will be home by the end of that so we can file our income tax :)! We'll see.

Watch out...

Watch out we've got more teeth! Drake cut his other top tooth today!!!! Wow, he's just sprouting those little teeth. He has four now! Kera still has two, although I see a little bump on the bottom next to her other bottom teeth. :).

So Dane got to come home today, on time. Which was amazing. It was so sweet seeing him see the babies for the first time in 2.5 days! He's an amazing father, and I love him sooo much!!!! We had a good night. Since I have not been out of the house since last Saturday, we went out to dinner with the babies to El Torros. They sat in the high chairs, Kera got a little fussy, but not loud. Drake was loving it there. After dinner we stopped by old navy to get the kids valentines outfits. Actually they aren't really valentines outfits. They are more blue and red, and I am hoping they or at least Kera will fit in her whole outfit come July 4th because it's super cute. Anyways, Old Navy was having an AWESOME Sale!!! It was the 'Take an additional 50% off of clearance items sale", and we got 40 articles of clothing for $150. Though $50 of that was on the Valentines outfits that were not on sale. So we spent $100 on 36 pieces of clothing ranging in sizes from 6-12 months to 12-18 months. All in all we got 2 adult sweaters, 1 pair of shoes, 4 jammies, 1 pair of shorts, 1 dress, 2 skirts, 1 sweater coat, 2 pairs of pants, 13 short sleeved shirts, 12 long sleeved shirts, 1 coat for Kera that I could not pass up for $6, normally 30 something!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE CLEARANCE!!! Especially when you have two growing babies to buy for! I am just so happy!

Climbers

Oh no! Kera is starting to climb on things! She climbs all over me already, and she's starting to climb on her little rock star table thing. AHHH. Tonight Drake started climbing on me as well! I am not ready for climbers ;).

Tonight Daddy didn't get to make it home to say goodnight to our little ones. However we did call him and he got to tell them over the phone. Drake just smiled and laughed when I put the phone up to his ear. He LOVES the phone! He crawls after it every time I leave it on the floor!

I had put Drake and Kera in their playroom for a few minutes while I cleaned the kitchen. I heard laughing, so I ran over to the playroom, and snuck up on them. Kera was sitting up, and Drake was infront of her on his knees bouncing back and forth like he was going to get her. Kera was laughing so hard, and Drake was smiling and talking to her! I love having two babies. Although it's difficult sometimes, it's so worth it. I love how close they are! :) I hope they continue to be close through out the years to come.

Top teeth...

So this morning Drake woke up, I felt his little top tooth! How cute! In a couple of weeks he'll look like a little rabbit. Well only if he had two top teeth, and two bottom teeth (he has the bottom two).

Daddy got to come home on time today. It was nice! Kera didn't feel great, she was crying with real tears streaming down her little cheeks which made me cry. I think her tummy hurt. So anyways, I laid her in my lap, and rubbed her hair over and over again. It was so sweet, she calmed down while sucking her little fingers, and looking at the bright light up above. She's feeling better ;).

I can't believe how big they are getting. I look at them while they are sleeping and they look so big. Dane and I are amazed at them, and we can't believe they are going to be toddlers in a few short months!

Sleepy...

Alright, well I am pretty tired, but I just wanted to blog.

My sister came over tonight to watch the Bachelor with me. I had Drake in his walker, and Kera on the floor. Kera crawled up to Drakes walker, and Drake started laughing hysterically. Kera went to her knees and Drakes walker had toys eye level to where Kera was standing at her knees. She peeked under, and Drake peeked under. And he would laugh and laugh and laugh. It's like they were playing peek a boo! Sooo adorable. It had my sister and myself laughing so hard we were crying. It was the cutest thing ever.

They are learning all the time...

This is going to be a short blog, but I just wanted to give a quick update. Kera is starting to stand at everything, all her toys, the living room ledge, me, daddy... she just pulls right up and stands. Drake is getting the hang of his knees and hands. I think he may start to crawl like that in a few weeks. He's been getting up on his hands and knees and then bounces back and forth, and that's how Kera started to crawl. He also has a while little tooth coming through on the top of his mouth. I tried to feel it, but it's not poking through enough yet. That should make for some cute pictures, two bottom teeth, and one top tooth. How cute!

We miss daddy today. He went into work at 1pm, left at 12. I am not sure when he'll be home. :(

Christmas time is over...

So tonight we had my extended family Christmas. It was a great time! The highlight of the whole evening is when my niece Faith, gave me her baby blanket, her security blanket since she's been a newborn until now which this month she is turning seven, to give to Kera. And her favorite stuffed animal since she was a baby to give to Drake. It made me cry my eyes out!!! It was the sweetest thing EVER. I remember Faith curling up with the blanket when she was a baby, a toddler, a big girl! She never left without that blanket!!!! EVER! So it was a very big thing for her to do. Just thinking about it, it brings tears to my eyes. I am hoping that Kera will be that close to that blanket as well, and I hope that it stays intact until Faith has a child MANY YEARS FROM NOW, than Kera can give it back to her child. Same with the stuffed animal! Oh I just love that girl!

Today was a big deal for Drake as well, he learned how to climb over the living room step! He went over the step and was heading towards the bedrooms, and Kera climbed over the step and headed towards the kitchen. My hands are full now. I love my life with them! They are so amazing. It's so fun just to sit back and watch them, and see them learning. Kera gets so excited sometimes it looks like she's dancing by hopping up and down on her butt while sitting, and she brings her hands together, and does a big cheesy grin! I miss them already, but they are in bed.

This next week will be difficult for us, I am pretty sure Daddy will not see them at all this upcoming week, because he has to work late all next week. So that will be a different routine, I hope he gets to come home to see his children before bed. I am sure that would be difficult on him also, as well as the rest of us. We are used to daddy being home.

Well that was all for today, I'll be washing Faiths old blankie and stuffed animal tomorrow, so Drake and Kera can start having them tomorrow. :)

Goodbye 2008...

Goodbye 2008! Hello 2009!

We had a busy 2008, with our new home, my pregnancy, the twins early arrival, 3 weeks of NICU time, the loss of someone special, the heartbreaking news of two other family members, and a hurricane. Some memories were the best memories I've ever had, and others were the worst. I am so happy to see 2008 be a year of the past, but 2008 will always have an impact on our family.

I welcome 2009 with open arms. I am trying to stick to my new year resolutions, and it's not even the end of January yet ;). I have yet to stick with a new year resolution, but this year, I am making that one of my new year resolutions is to stick with it and accomplish it! One of which is to start blogging, I know kind of lame, but it helps me get things off of my chest. I have a personal blog, but this is for the family. One to talk mostly about Drake and Kera.

So for those of you who don't know. They both have two bottom teeth. Kera sits up by herself, crawls all over the house (literally), and she says DaDa. The other morning, Dane called me at 8am, and the three of us were still sleeping. I didn't answer the phone, nor did I know who it was, and I heard Kera from her crib let out a small cry, and say DaDa, and then fall back to sleep. When I woke up, I checked the caller ID, and sure enough it was DaDa. She loves her DaDa more than anything!!! Drake sits up if we put him in that position, but he's getting a whole lot better! He smiles all the time, and he says MaMa! :)Yes, he's my little man, a mommy's boy for sure! Don't be mistaken, he loves his daddy too! He just smiles all the time. He army crawls, he watches his sister crawl over the step in the living room, and I think he's kind of jealous. But I am super happy that both of them do not do that. He looks at his sister, and smiles and laughs at her. I often go into their playroom, and there is slobber all over Kera's hair, I am assuming from Drakes mouth by giving her kisses :).

I can't believe that I am already in the midst of planning their first birthday. It blows my mind, that this past year has gone by way too fast. I often look back on the NICU experience, and I can hardly remember it. It's sad really. I don't want them to grow up this fast.

I am sure at the end of 2009 I will look back on this blog, and forget half of the things that they have done. This is why I created this blog, so that I can share with you all, and myself what our family is up to ;).
