Burritos and a new camera!

So, I got a new digital camera for myself. It's a Canon Xsi. I love it, I have lots of practice to do. I am just so grateful that I don't have to share with Dane anymore, he is a camera hog. Plus it gives us a hobby to do together, and I love that!

Today I was asking a forum that I am a part of what types of finger foods to feed children. They told me anything that we eat, just don't make it too spicy. So I also looked at wholesome baby food website to get more ideas. They can have cottage cheese, woo hoo ;). I wonder how they'll like that? That is going to have to wait until we can go to the store again. I made burritos tonight. Guess what? The babies got some! I cooked the meat, and drained it. I put a spoon full of meat on each side of a plate. I picked tiny bits of tomatoes off of the diced tomatoes I cut up, and mixed that into each spoon full of meat. On the side of the meat I put a half of a teaspoon of refried beans. I let it cool. Then I scooped the mixture onto their highchairs, and topped it with shredded cheese. THEY LOVED IT!!! Tomorrow we are going to have spaghetti, and I am going to do the same thing, except I am not going to give them too much tomato sauce. I can't believe they are getting so old :(. **TEAR**

We reserved the place we had the baby shower at for their first birthday. I can't remember if I typed that in the last blog or not ;). This way we don't have to worry about parking, or renting chairs and tables, or a bounce house since there is a park for the kids to play at. The party is going to be from 11-1pm on May 2nd.

Colds, teeth, etc....

So last week I thought I just had allergies. All I had was a stuffy nose, runny nose at times, and a few little coughs here and there, oh and sneezing. So anyways, Saturday we woke up to our babies with congestion and runny noses! They don't really seemed to be phased by it other than the fact they can't breath through their noses. They are as happy as can be. I hope they get better soon though.

Today was the first time we let them take a nap with us in our bed. It was really cute! Kera was snuggling all against me, It was oh so sweet. But it only lasted for about 30 minutes with Kera. I moved the tiniest bit, because my arm was falling asleep, and I saw her eyes open up. I rubbed her hair to try to get her back to sleep, and rubbed her face. She was staring at our ceiling fan, and she just had the biggest smile every time I rubbed her face, which made me laugh, because it was just too precious! So right when she heard me laugh, she rolled over and popped up and started to play. So I put her in her crib, where she fell back to sleep instantly. I then came back to bed with the snoring daddy, and the snoring drooly Drake. He slept for about an hour with us! It was too sweet.

Anyways, we are getting MORE teeth. Drake is getting both of his teeth next to his top two middle teeth. So this will equal 6 teeth for him! Kera is also getting her top two middle teeth, so this will also be six teeth for her! Drakes started poking through last week, and Kera's just this weekend! So, WOW, my babies are getting a ton of teeth! We upgraded their tooth brushes from the finger toothbrush to the stage 1 oral B tooth brush, because it hurt too bad to brush Drakes teeth any longer with my finger! OUCH! They love their new toothbrushes.

As for the birthday party, Dane is going to call the hall that we had our baby shower at, to see if it is still open for May 2nd. It will save us a lot of money from renting chairs, tables and a bounce house. Not to mention the parking if a lot of people show up. So here is to hoping they still have it available.

Cooking with Mama!

Today the babies and I had a great day! I decided to make a dessert for daddy, and of course myself. I put the babies in the kitchen with me and gave them some pans, bowls, spoons, and measuring cups. They had a blast banging the pot, and eating the spoons and measuring cups. Maybe I'll cook more often since that seemed to keep them entertained for a long time! Dane may be lucky after all.

Last night I went to Target to get hubbys Valentines stuff, and I shopped for a Valentines gift for the babies. I seen the tunnel, and thought that they would like it. So I picked it up brought it home. Of course Daddy wanted me to give it to them right when I got home. So they got their tunnel a bit early. Kera liked it immediately, and had a ton of fun looking out of the mesh to see us and play peek a boo. However, Drake does not like the tunnel as of yet. I hope he likes it soon. Daddy scared him when he opened the tunnel, it popped out straight for Drake, and ever since then he cries when he is near the tunnel. Hopefully he gets over that fear. Maybe one day :).

Today we also went out to eat to Cracker Barrel with Uncle Deran and Aunt Amy, and of course their newest cousin in Aunt Amy's belly! I can't wait to see that little peanut, I am sure Drake and Kera will love their little cousin! Kera got really cranky at the restraunt, it was pretty embarassing, because she never does that. But Daddy got her calmed down, thank goodness, becasue we were about to leave. The babies had some mashed potatoes, Drake didn't really care for them. They also had a few bites of green beans.

So that's all we did today, but we had a great day. I really enjoyed the babies cooking with me. Like I said, Daddy may get more meals now that I know that the pots and pans keep the kids attention.

Sweet babies!

Drake and Kera seem to be growing overnight. Every day I wake up to their sweet little babbles (or cries :D ) it seems like they have grown so much since the night before! I think they may be going through a growth spurt, although they aren't eating any more than usual!

This morning I changed Keras diaper, and she said "mama" :)! It made my heart melt. She's so sweet! I am not sure if she said it because she knows I am her mama, or if she was just saying it because she can say it. Regardless it was a sweet moment. They babble so much together.

They both stand up by pulling onto things. Kera is letting go of whatever she stands at up to five seconds and then falls. I don't think it will be too much longer until she is standing by herself! Drake loves standing in his bed, and he bites the crib rails! We need to lower his crib to the lowest setting because he's so tall, I'll have to remind Dane to do that tonight.

We are trying to get them used to finger foods. Just like cheerios and bananas. So far they love bananas, Drake more than Kera :). If anyone has any suggestions on what else I can try to feed them that would be great. They are just now learning to chew. So it needs to be soft or easily chewable foods.

A doctors visit...

So today we took our kids to the doctors. They had a rash, Kera one on her cheek, and Drake on his leg and arm. They were just small circular rashes. The doctor said it's nothing to be concerened about it's just winter Eczema (dry skin). The one on Kera's face is just from her drooling excessively. So I am happy! Drake weighed 18 lbs 8 oz, and Kera weighed 17 lbs 4 oz. My growing babies! We asked about Drake sitting on his knees and ankles, and Dr. Prihoda said that it's fine, and that eventually Drake will figure out it's more comfortable to sit on his hiney.

We are planning their one year old birthday party. I ordered the cupcake pan today, and I ordered their birthday presents. We got them a wagon, and a sand/water table. I really want to get them outdoors this summer, and make use of our backyard. The last time I stepped foot out in our back yard was last Easter. Dane bought a grill so hopefully we'll become outdoor people this summer :D, we'll see!

Standing, waving, etc...

I am sorry it has been a while since I last updated this blog. I had strep throat, and I've just been completely lazy the past week.

Here is a quick update on the babies:
Drake is now standing up by pulling up on things, including but not limited to Dane's leg hair!
Drake loves to feel his teeth :) He licks them constantly and smacks his tongue against his lips!
Drake is slowly growing more hair, and it's like a redish blonde now. Too cute!

Kera is now taking chances and standing for a split second without any help!
Kera waves now, that just started today, and it's the most adorable thing I've seen!
Kera is getting her fang teeth in, they are just coming out of the gums.

Our babies love to stand in their cribs facing each other in the morning and they jibber jabber away at eachother, and laugh together. They love to swing, we took them to the park yesterday with Grandpa, DeDe, Uncle Don, Aunt Amanda, Cousin Dresden, and Cousin Aiden. All the boys and Amanda played football, while Dede and I played with the babies.

Today they are nine months old, only three months to go until they are a year old! I just can't believe it. It feels like just last month Dane was rushing me to the hospital and we didn't know rather or not to be excited because we were going to be parents, or scared not knowing if they were going to be ok!
